DEVELOPING A TECHNOLOGY STRATEGY AND ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE FOR A SERVICES GROUP
Our client is the UK’s leading provider of specialist services to the construction and facilities management sectors. The group was made up of c.29 businesses, all with their own operating models and technology footprint. PE-backed, they had ambitious plans and needed to create a technology strategy to support this growth.
Tessiant were engaged to help them define and articulate a technology strategy and define a modern, professional technology capability to partner with the business to create value. We interviewed technology and business leaders across the group to understand current processes, pain points and opportunities for growth. We conducted qualitative analysis on IT performance and benchmarked spend vs. similar organisations.
Tessiant delivered a pragmatic and action-orientated set of recommendations and the building blocks of a plan to deliver these. We identified areas of potential procurement efficiency, which could unlock savings to invest in the growth plan.
We identified a series of activities to build a solid foundation for the technology function across infrastructure, security and processes. Tessiant also delivered a view on organisational structure and strategic priorities for the incoming CDIO.
